Givenchy Mister Light : Product Review

Good morning loves!

Thank you for stopping by! Today I am sharing a new product that is perfect for highlighting in all the right places! If you have been searching for the perfect under-eye product that doesn’t crease, this is great for you. Givenchy always delivers the highest quality ingredients, so I wouldn’t expect anything but the best in their concealers. See below my review on this beautiful pen!

Rating: 7/10 | I love the packaging of this product, it is easy to slip into your purse or clutch and take it with you for under eye touch ups. It smooths out fine lines under and around the eyes without creating product build up.

Skin type: Normal/ Dry / Oily – I have tried this on three different skin types over the past couple weeks and it has worked on all three skin types.

How to use: Twist up the end of the pen until you get a small amount of concealer that comes out the tip. Apply directly to the skin under the eyes, down the center of nose, forehead and chin. You can blend it in with the brush, with your fingers or with a Beauty Blender. I like to set the under eyes with the Stila Sheer Pressed Powder!

Cost: $34 – The price is a bit high for a concealer pen but I feel like it is for sure worth it. I have tried so many concealer pens and always regret the purchase because the consistency of the concealer is too wet and doesnt last on the skin. Mister Light works perfectly!

My color: Light

Welcome to the new KC!

Hello Darlings!
Thank you so much for your patience the past two weeks while my site was under construction! I hope you all enjoy the new design and that it is much easier for you to navigate around! I was lucky enough to work with some amazing people in order to create it! I will be posting much more often now and delivering a lot more product reviews! If you have any requests on what you would like to learn or see on the new Kissable Complexions, please comment below!  Today I am going to list how I got this extra GLOWING skin! I feel like dewy, glowy, shimmering skin is on everyones wanted list right now, below I have listed my favorite way to achieve this look!

Photos taken by: / Wardrobe by: / Location: My Dear Lizzie / Hair & MU: KC

CAUTION: This look may cause serious blindness to all those around you! Glow on…

1. Start with a clean, fresh face! I like to do a light masque in the morning so that my skin feels refreshed and super smooth for my makeup application! I use Skin Ceuticals B5 Masque 20 min before application. Do not apply a moisturizer to the skin, this will only make your glow skin look like oily skin.

2. Apply a smoothing primer! My favorite primer at the moment is Salma Hayek Nuance Smooth Start . I give this product a 7 out of 10. It really hides the pores on the nose and gives a perfecting look to the skin before foundation application. Apply a pea size amount to the entire T-zone.

3. Now it is time to start the makeup! My first trick to creating a “Dewy” look to the skin is mixing a dime size amount of foundation with a dime size amount of liquid highlighter. I like to use the NYX “Gleam” Illuminator. This illuminator has a champagne colored shimmer to it, perfect for every skin tone. You can find it at Ulta or online. {7-10$}

  • The foundation I used for this look is a new favorite: Marc Jacobs Genius Gel Super-Charged in “42″ ($48) – This foundation is great for this look because it has a very creamy consistency. I would suggest it for those that do not suffer from sensitive-skin for it is fragranced pretty strongly. It gives a full coverage look to the skin and looks very smooth when applied. Mix your illuminator and foundation together on the back of your hand and apply. I used my beauty blender and pressed it into my skin, and down my neck until I got a medium-full coverage look.
  • The concealer is next, I used a new product to my collection: Hourglass Hidden Corrective in “Natural” {$40}. The great thing about this product is that it comes in a stick form, so it is really easy to apply it straight under the eyes, down the center of nose, on the chin. Use the Beauty Blender to blend it in.
  • The Powder I used for this look was an illuminating powder to enhance that glow even more: Cover FX “medium” – lightly dust this all onto the skin by pressing your brush lightly so that you are not buffing it into the skin.
  • Blush is an important step to creating the perfect glow as well, I like to use a shimmer blush: Frankie Rose “Venetian Rose” – This is a shimmer pink/berry blush, apply directly to apples of cheeks and sweep upwards.
  • Contour with a matte bronzer so that your entire face is not sparkling- I like to use : Anastasia Contour kit in “Havana” to hollow out my cheekbones, forehead, and define my nose and jawline. I like to use the Japonesque contour brush, It is perfcectly shaped for this part.
  • Extra highlight: Lastly with a DRY Beauty Blender I like to press some extra liquid illuminator onto the cheeks- I am in a love affair with Whitening Lightening’s BB Plus Illuminator - this takes highlighting to a whole other level. Dip the end into a small amount and press with the butt of the blender into the highest part of your cheekbones very lightly. ** You can apply liquid after powder if you do it with a light hand.
  • Spray your face with Evian spray or a finishing spray to add that extra amount of moisture and your look is complete!!

Spring Makeup & Braided Crowns

Happy Wednesday!
I am super excited to leave tomorrow for a fun weekend of brides, lessons and shoots in California! I wanted to share with you all this super fresh Spring inspired look using some beautiful new products!    I am loving my new hair color with peach tones lately, especially on the lips and cheeks! I also show how I use individual prong lashes to enhance my bottom lashes! I hope you enjoy!
I also wanted to let you all know that my site may be down this weekend, I have been working on my new site for the past 6 months and am finally making it live! I am so excited to show you all! I will still be doing mini-makeup looks on my Instagram with products so check that out! My site will hopefully be live next week so thank you for your patience!
Get the look…
1. prep the eyes with a primer, I like to use MAC Painterly.
2. Apply a shimmer shadow to the eyelid, not going on the crease. I used MAC “Honey Lust”
3. Apply a shimmer peach shadow to the entire crease of the eye. I used Inglot 407
4. Line the top and bottom lash line with a black liner. I used Bobbi Brown Noir Black pencil
5. Line the inner water line with a white liner to make your eyes appear bigger. I used Blink “White”
6. Then apply your top lashes, I used Ardell fashion lashes in 110 Demi Black for the top.
7. I then applied 5 lashes to my bottom lashes! Read how to do this below!
I used Alyssa lashes from Huda Beauty! Dupe: Ardell individual shorts
Bottom lashes 101
If you have ever wondered about how most celebrities get their bottom lashes so long it is not Latisse, it is bottom false lashes! AND they are easier then they appear…
1. Apply mascara to the bottom lashes, coating all of them to make them visible.
2. With tweezers pull of a 3 prong lash and dip the base into a small amount of glue.
3. let it dry lightly.
4. Place the lash on top of a lash hair as if you are lying it on the back of the hair so it rests on top.
5. It will dry quickly and stay all day on that hair until you remove that night.
Repeat this on at least 5 hairs, or more, to create a full look. I spaced mine out so they look “Twiggy” like. I like to use Duo clear lash glue! :)
Spring staples!
Stila cream blush “Gerbera” | Girlactik gloss “Orange Twist” | Huda Alyssa lashes
Foundation: Lancome Teint Visionnaire Duo in 160 Ivoire W - A skin correcting foundation plus spot corrector duo designed to reveal an immediate, flawless complexion and improve skin day after day. I am in love with the way this makes my skin look, it is build able so it can be worn as a lighter coverage or a heavier. I also used the concealer under my eyes.
I applied with the Real Techniques Expert Face brush - buff into the skin.
Powder highlight: Too Faced “Sheer Gold” powder – apply under eyes, center nose, jaw line.
Bronzer: Milani “Glow” applied to cheekbones and forehead and nose contour. {this has a shimmer in it for highlight too}
Blush: “Gerbera” applied with stippling brush to cheeks. This cream blush is perfect for the lips and the cheeks, it dries to a dewy finish and stays on the skin for hours!
Shape your brows with a powder, pencil or gel. I liked a pencil for this look- Anastasia Soft Brown.
Finish with the a beautiful peach lip- Girlactik Orange Twist is gorgeous and creamy! It is a beautiful orange/peach gloss with no shimmer, perfect for a natural lip look.
See you all on my new site! Thanks for your patience loves!

“My testimonial for the amazing Jade Baird: as a cosmetologist working in the beauty industry, i had high expectations on how i wanted my makeup to look for my wedding! Jade completely surpassed every expectation i had and made my wedding makeup so flawless and perfect! I have extremely oily sensitive skin..(so annoying!!! i envy all of you dry skinned people!) so my makeup never lasts more then a few hours. my wedding day started at 10am and didn’t end until late at night. i was so nervous about my eyes and face creasing and melting off. My makeup lasted all day and night, my eye shadow stayed completely in place and my airbrushed face stayed put until i took my makeup off that evening. Not only did Jade give me the “victoria secret” look that i had always wanted for my day, but she also taught me so many makeup techniques and tricks that i have taken with me and practiced on my own face at home and in my salon! She is so knowledgable in her art, and literally knows every product, color and technique that will work with your skin type and face. I seriously knew she was an answer to my prayers! she took all my worries away and made me feel beautiful and look like a princess all day! I follow her beauty blog religiously and was so excited to have the opportunity to work with her! She inspired me to be a better cosmetologist and artist at my craft! i would recommend Jade for every single bride and model! she will make your look perfect, sexy and flawless. You will feel so incredibly beautiful and your confidence will wow everyone! xoxoxo Raechel “

Cream Contour: Part 2

Good morning!
Thanks for coming back! Below is Part 2 of the contouring pictorial from yesterday! I will be sharing the products used to blend in the cream contour, what powders to use and where to apply them.
 Also, some extra highlighting and blush tricks! Thank you for all your questions on the previous post, I have them all saved and will answer them soon in a separate post! Tutorial on this eyeshadow and brow makeup to come soon!
Apply Cream
  1. Apply your creams to the skin with a flat foundation brush. I found an awesome brush at Target a few  months back and it is the most amazing brush to use to apply the cream contour to the face. For an everyday contour follow the chart above and use the creams or creams like the BB sticks. {See previous post for products}

2. Spray the face with either Fix+ from Mac OR I like to use the NYX Dewy Finish spray. Spray it directly onto the skin after applying the contour to the skin. This is meant to give your cream a little slip and will help blend it perfectly.

Blend It…
3. Now it is time to blend. The following products are my favorite to use to blend in my contour cream.
Sigma F82
First is the Sigma F82 Round kabuki- in circular motions, lightly, blend the dark colors in circles into the skin, this will buff the color. After, buff in the highlight white cream into the darker colors, stay within where the areas are highlighted and contoured without meshing them all into one big blob.
Real Techniques

 Second option is the Real Techniques Perfect Face Brush. This is a dupe for the Sigma F82 brush. I am a little obsessed with this brush, it buffs everything so beautifully and it is super affordable.

Beauty Blender

Last, of course you can use a Beauty Blender to blend all your contour together. This is one of the best tools out there for getting the perfect face. I like to get my BB sponge damp and then squeeze it out. To blend your contour with the beauty blender, tap it onto the skin in a small wrist rolling motion away from the face. Blend the dark contour outwards into the hairline and then blend the light highlight by pressing the BB sponge in quick motions until it is completely blended.

Set / Powder
Set your face with a translucent powder. One of my favorites is MAC translucent powder. This finely milled powder is perfect for setting the creams and stripping the oil from the skin. I like to apply it with a powder puff {see here} and press it onto the skin instead of blending with a brush- which causes the creams to move. Blot the powder lightly all over, especially under the eyes!
NYX Dusty Rose
Next it is time to add a bit of blush to the cheeks! I like to use the back of a dry beauty blender {the round part} and press onto the cheekbones lightly. This will give a very natural look to the cheeks instead of a super heavy blush application! There are many ways to apply blush and this is just one of them!
Lastly, it is time to highlight! Mac Whisper of Gilt is perfect for giving a healthy looking glow to the skin! I like to apply it to the cheekbones, under the brows, inner corners of eyes, center of nose, upper lip, chin, and collar bones! I just love glow so much! If you do not want to apply these to all those places, just apply them to the cheekbones!

I will do a lip/ eyeshadow/ brow tutorial for this look soon! Thanks again for the questions, they will all be answered soon!

Cream Contour: Part 1

Happy Monday sweeties!
Today I have a pictorial on one of my many contouring methods using the Bobbi Brown Foundation Sticks! These bad boys work wonders when it comes to contouring. I know that many say their biggest concern with the contouring technique is that they do not know what products to use. These creamy sticks are quick and easy when drawing on the contouring chart, so don’t you worry anymore! To see more check out the tutorial below! I will be sharing the finished look tomorrow, so come back!
For this contour tutorial I used three different shades from the Bobbi Brown Foundation Sticks. These creamy foundation are shaped perfectly for contouring. They come in a pen/stick form so you can easily draw the contour lines onto the skin. You do NOT need these products to achieve a contour, I prefer BB because they are high quality and blend perfectly. You can do this same technique with three different colors: a light, medium, and dark. We are creating shadows here, light and dark to create a hollow effect, follow the chart and you will get a beautiful contour.
Cream Contour tips…
  • Creamy foundation sticks are the best, you can use liquid if its all you have. A fantastic DUPE for this BB stick is IMAN Cosmetics OR Sonia Kashuk.
  • Using three different tones of colors is the key to creating a more natural looking contour.
  • The best products for blending in cream contour are the Beauty Blender or a Kabuki brush.
  • To blend in your Contour you want to use round buffing motions to blend all three colors together.
  • I like to glam the eyes first and then apply the face, this is what I prefer!

This contour on Marikh is a normal contour to chisel out her already perfect cheekbones, jawline, nose and forehead. If you are wanting to alter the shape of your face, then you will need to go into a little more detail. Please comment below on what questions and concerns you have with contouring and what you would like me to explain to you!
Step by step…
  1. First draw on the white “highlighting” areas to the face. These go: under the eyes to brighten, down the center of the nose to thin it out, under the cheekbone to make it pop more, on the chin, upper lip, and above the brows.
  2. Second, apply the medium brown shade across the forehead, under the cheekbones, down the sides of nose and across the tip, and along the jawline.
  3. Then, apply the darkest foundation stick in only the following areas: three dashes on forehead, under the cheekbones again, and under the chin.
  4. While your creams are still fresh on the skin, buff them in with a damp Beauty Blender. Remember to use small, quick, buffing movements and do not move your dark colors into the lighter colors. I like to buff in the contour and then buff out the highlighter for a more bright eye’d look.
  5. Once you are done with blending your contour in you can either go over the contour with translucent powder, pressed powder, airbrush for extra coverage, foundation for even more coverage or just spray the contour with a setting spray. There are so many different options!

See the final look tomorrow!

Green Eye Glam

Hello beautifuls!
Today I have an easy tutorial that is perfect for all. I always love super detailed eye shadows, it is like painting on the eyes for me, but sometimes I don’t want to spend 20+ minutes doing it. That is when I grab some extra glamorous lashes and pack em’ on! Lashes are amazing, they give your eyes an instant “lift” and add a doe-eyed look to any face. I am obsessed to the max with Huda lashes, so sad they aren’t available in the states yet, but I have some dupe options for those out there that want to achieve this look still. I also am wearing green contacts today from Colorblend, they are fun!
keep reading for more info!

This is the most amazing creamy lipstick that I own. I know now why the YSL lipsticks are so expensive. To be honest they are completely worth the $34. They glide onto the lips perfectly, and hide cracked dry lips too!  This is the perfect beige nude color too!

{ ^this stuff is amazing and so cheap! Great elf find- will keep shadows on up to 6 hours!}
white shadow: Makeup Geek Ice Queen  Apply to inner corner of eyes and brow bone.
Lid shadow: Mercury Makeup Geek Apply to the entire lid with flat shadow brush.
The showstoppers are the lashes…
Lashes #1: Huda Claudia { super detailed thick lashes}
Lashes #2: Huda Coco Jo { thick, black and pieced out lashes}
Bottom lashes: Red Cherry bottom lashes #33 – apply mascara to bottom lashes first and then apply bottom lashes tucked underneath the real lashes to the skin, close to the waterline.
Mascara: NEW Eyeko Black Magic ** My new favorite mascara this month- great to add a dark coat to false lashes. Applied to top and bottom. I love that it is water resistant and long lasting too!
Bottom liner: Tarte Sunstone Bronze applied under false bottom lashes.
No waterline color
Brunette Brow Wiz Brunette & Brow Duo Dark Brown

Foundation: Dior Skin forever #21 w/ Sigma F80
Highlight: Concealer Sonia Kashuk Hidden Agenda W/ Bobbi Brown foundation brush {tutorial to come} Such a great cream concealer kit for only $11 ! Buy at Target and use to highlight/contour!
Do you want a tutorial? ^
Girlactik bronzer Cabo matte for extra contour - this powder is absolutely amazing to contour because it is super matte and the perfect brown color! In love.
Makeup Geek Ice Queen shadow for extra highlight
I love to wear these to change up my face a little bit. I also love how “doll-like” they make my eyes look! If you are afraid to try contacts, don’t be, because I was and now I am sold on them!

Nail colors coming soon!
