Pore Fillers: Hiding Acne & Scars

Hello Babes!

I always get asked the best products for hiding pores, filling in lines, & smoothing out pimples and scars! Well you are in luck because I have compiled some of my favorite products below for just this! Pores are inevitable, you cannot get rid of them, but you can minimize and hide them with the right technique. Often people are afraid of makeup when they have acneic or scarred skin because it can make it look “CAKEY” if not applied the correct way. Layering more and more product on will only leave you looking overly frosted. Primer and Pore Fillers will be your best friend if you struggle with texturized skin. Keep reading to learn my favorites at the moment…

Pore Fillers / Line Fillers / Scar Fillers:

Fillers are usually clear/ or flesh tone and are best when applied with the fingers directly to the skin. Focus on the T-zone if your pores are large in these areas. For scars/wrinkles you can apply these with fingers to the area as well. Apply lightly so that you are not soaking up a lot of the product into your hands. Let dry and foundation can be applied over with a Beauty Blender- this is the best tool for hiding texture.

  1. NYX Pore Filler – A nude smooth consistency, this pore filler is AMAZING, and for the cheap price it is definitely a must buy. Get porcelain doll like skin before coverage with this beautiful filler! $11 {ACNE SKIN SUGGESTION}

  1. theBalm – Time Balm – Pink tone pore filler, very velvety finish to the skin. Let it dry for atleast 5 minutes before applying foundation $29

3. Clarins Skin Smooth Perfect – This one is by far my favorite when it comes to fillers. It is thick and smooth, leaves the skin feeling poreless basically!! I use this on usually every single client for that perfect skin finish before foundation $28

The Flawless Bride: Defined Brows

Do they get much prettier? I think not. I was so excited when I met this gorgeous bride, she not only had perfect skin, but amazing features as well! Makes my job so easy, and sometimes I feel guilty even putting any product on a face this beautiful. I went with a dewy airbrush look to enhance her glowing skin, smokey/sparkling eyeshadows, and a more defined brow to shape her face better. I was so happy with how this bridal look came out and couldn’t wait to share it with you all! To inquire about wedding makeup please email Jadembaird@gmail.com

Boudoir Eyes: Before & After

Hello Beauties!

I love boudoir makeup. It is so sexy, seductive and hot! I was able to do one of my closest friends makeup this week for hers and was so happy she loved it. We did traditional makeup for this look and did a mixture of Tom Ford and Dior foundation for a very glowy look to the skin. I used my favorite Huda lashes and the Too Faced Boudoir eyes palette to accentuate her eyes! If you are interested in doing a boudoir shoot and need makeup this look is perfect for all, email me for any inquiries! XOX

Products used:

Prime: Motives Perfecting– apply all over skin with fingers. I have been using this primer on clients for the past month and it is by far one of my “must-haves”. It smooths fine lines and fills in any pores/pimples to give an extra smooth finish before foundation.

Foundation: Tom Ford foundation stick #05 / Dior Forever #021 mixed with a beauty blender

Concealer: LA Girl Cosmetics in Ivory – Apply under the eyes and blend in with beauty blender

Setting: Frankie Rose in “Olive” – Apply with a fluffy powder brush and press into skin to set

Contour: Milk Chocolate Soleil by Too Faced– Apply with a slim powder brush to the forehead, cheekbones and nose to contour

Highlight: MUFE Compact shine on #5 – Apply to the temples and high cheekbones, nose, cupids bow and inner corner.

Blush: AOM Cosmetics in “Alluring” -this soft coral/pink is the perfect touch of blush on the cheeks. Apply with a stippling brush for a very light blushing look.

Brushes: Hair and Makeup Addiction Set

Eyeshadow: Any Gray & Black eyeshadow will do to create this top heavy eyeshadow look. I used the actual “Boudoir Eyes” palette from TOO FACED, it just has some beautiful neutral/dark tones for smokey eyes. Apply “Garter Belt” or your gray all over the eyelid with a flat shadow brush, pack it on. Then blend “French Tickler” or your black on the outer corner/crease with a blending brush in circular motions. Dont take the shadow higher than the crease to avoid making it too dramatic. Shadow is complete- super easy!

Eyeliner: Girlactik Precise Marker Liner – Line the top lash line with this felt tip liner pen to define the top lid before lashes.

Eyelashes: Huda Beauty in “Samantha” {Pre-stacked} | Super excited to announce that these lashes along with all her others will be available in the US this September! I will be doing a giveaway soon with them!

Brows: Anastasia BH Pomade in “Dark Brown” – Fill in the brows to define the shape with this brow gel pomade, a little goes a long way.

Lipstick & Gloss: MAC “Faux” lipstick with Nyx Butter gloss in Creme Brule with MAC Underage lipglass = creamy pink nude lip!

High Fashion/Editorial Glam Shoot: Part 1

Happy weekend my loves!

Today I am sharing with you a very dramatic & glamorous look I created for a fashion shoot  a few weeks ago! These are my favorite looks to create because they allow me to be very artistic with makeup. I posted the fun before and after photo HERE , I always like to show the difference that contouring can make! Obviously Marina needs no makeup to look gorgeous, but I am so glad she was the model and I got to work on her perfect face! I went for a thick winged liner, golden shimmer and deep bordeaux lips. I would suggest this makeup style for mostly party or photo shoots, probably not an everyday style 😉 I will post the face and lips details soon!

Get the eyes…

  • Eyeshadow primer: MAC Painterly applied all over the eyelid
  • Eyeshadows: Lorac Pro Palette-Apply “Sable” all over eyelid | Apply “Espresso” in the outer corner with a flat shadow brush | Apply “Gold” to the center of the eye for a pop of shimmer | Apply “Black” to the outer corner with a blending brush.
  • Inner corner: Urban Decay “Polyester bride” – a shimmering white shadow perfect for highlighting the inner corners.
  • Eyeliner: Girlactik precise pen liner  – Line the top lash line thick with this amazing pen liner- this liner makes creating a “wing” so easy! If you have a hard time getting a super straight line this will help you so much!
  • Lashes: House of lashes in “Starlet” – These are pretty dramatic lashes but they are so beautiful on- they make the eyes appear super large!
  • White liner: Rimmel “white” – line the inner waterline with this white khol to create a bright eyed look.
  • Mascara: Micaroon Mascara – coat the top lashes so that they naturally blend with your real ones.
  • Brows: ABH Brunette duo powder
  • Brushes: Hair and Makeup Addiction shadow brushes

Face and lip details will be posted soon!!

Winged Liner & Cranberry Lips

Happy weekend!!
Today I have a tutorial on how I achieved this high fashion look on this gorgeous model, Mandy. I wanted to go for a sophisticated/clean complexion with rosy cheeks and play up the eyes a bit by doing an intense smoked out liner. I ended her look with a cranberry colored lip! I love this look and would definitely wear it out to an event or party. I love how bold it is and it was perfect paired with her super edgy hair cut. I have included the before and after so you can see what a difference makeup can make to the skin for photos. I have done many transformations over the years, but this is one of my favorites so far. She is absolutely beautiful before and the same for after.
 I hope you all enjoy and thanks for stopping in!
{Photos taken by me with no flash and no filters/ just natural lighting}
 Eyes products:
For these eyes it is all about blending everything really well so the liner looks smoked out perfectly.
Base shadow: MAC “Bamboo”
Transition: MAC “Corduroy”
bottom liner: Tarte skinnySmolder eyes “Onyx” blend out with smudge side of pencil
Liner: Aqualillies for tarte Amazonian clay waterproof liner in “black” apply this gel liner to the top lash line and wing far out past the natural eye shape in a straight/sharp line.
Smoke liner: NYX “Stripped” black blend over the gel liner to create a smokey look.

For the lips I wanted to really shape her cupids bow, so I lined them very sharply with the Milani liner, filled them all the way in, coated them with lipstick and topped them off with gloss!

Lipgloss: Frankie Rose “Winter Plum” {Deep purple}
