Keeping Clear: Skin Care While Traveling

Hello loves!

Since I will be traveling a lot over the next couple weeks, I am very cautious with my skin and how I care for it. Being in airports and big cities can always make my complexion a little irritated, so I make sure to exfoliate every night and never go to bed with an inch of makeup on. I like to switch up my skincare regimen every couple months. This month I am using very little product and I have been wearing less makeup so that my pores stay clear. See below my travel skincare routine and how I stay glowing from city to city! XOXimage

Image Skincare: Total Resurfacing Masque ~ I cannot live without this all-in-one masque/exfoliator in my life! It has really kept my pores clean and gets rid of all impurities. I like to exfoliate with this every night to take my makeup off. Some mornings I will apply it as a masque and leave it on for 20min. It is a stronger scrub and tingled quite a bit on the skin.

Natura Bisse: Diamond White Matte Sunscreen ~ I have been pretty oily on this trip due to all the climate changes, so I have been skipping the moisturizer and going straight to my favourite sunscreen at the moment, Natura Bisse. This line was formed out of Barcelona, and I had the chance while I was there last week of meeting with one of the owners and had a tour of one of their amazing spa’s. I received some of their new products to try and will be doing s review soon. But this sunscreen is a must, it is not oily, adds wonderful moisture to the skin and smells divine! This is serious luxury when it comes to SPF!

Motives Perfecting Primer ~ to add a little bit more of a “matte” look to my skin after all the exfoliating and hydrating, I like to add a small amount of this lovely Motives primer. It fills in any lines/pores and leaves my skin fresh and ready for my makeup application!

PART 2 bride guide- Teeth

When it comes to that picture-perfect smile, teeth whitening can be a plus. It can be a bit of a struggle though for those who have never tried any bleaching agents, but I have found my favorite whitening products, natural methods, and tips, to give you that gorgeous smile in no time!

1. Crest White Toothpaste method: $4.99
For those who are low maintenance and want something easy!
Results: 3-5 days

How convenient, a toothpaste that whitens well too!? The results I have seen from switching to this paste are so dramatic that you will be able to tell a difference as soon as three days. Fluoride and hydrogen peroxide are the most important ingredients to look for in a whitening toothpaste, and most pastes already contain fluoride. But this has both, so it’s ideal for no-hassle whitening quick.

3. Go Smile Smile Whitening Light: $130
For those who want something fast that lasts the longest and is high quality.
Results: After one session
A whitening light mimics the technology used by the professionals, but it costs less. Just flip on an episode of your favorite show to distract yourself while the light blasts your teeth and activates the gel’s hydrogen peroxide. You’ll have a whiter smile by the time the credits roll. The great thing about this system is that the whitening goes deeper in the tooth with the light technology so the whiteness lasts longer, which means you only have to do it around 2-3 times to achieve the perfect shade.

3. Rembrandt Deeply White 2 Hour Whitening Kit: $19 Target
For those with a retainer already, or tray is available in kit.

Results: After 4 full sessions
Used strips in the past? Try switching to trays. They hold whitening gel in place better and extend all the way to your back molars. The upside to biting into the goop is that you’ll see results within a couple of hours. If you already have a retainer from your brace days, just insert the liquid into each tooth  pocket and apply! With your own custom retainer they fit perfectly shaped to the tooth, giving it an even closer whitening application.

4. The Natural way: Baking Soda/ Lemon : $3 -5
For the Au Naturale girl.
Results: Two – three weeks
Directions In a small bowl, mix a little bit of baking soda with the juice of a freshly squeezed lemon. The mixture should bubble slightly. Using a cotton swab, wipe saliva and excess plaque from your teeth before brushing on the mixture. Leave the mixture on your teeth for a minute before gently brushing it off with a toothbrush. Do this 3 times a week for best results.
* Attention * Don’t leave the mixture on your teeth for any longer than a minute; the acid erode tooth enamel.
Now that you have some Pearly Whites of you own don’t forget to keep it up by avoiding certain foods that could backfire your white smile!
Minimize your intake of the following before an event:
  • Excessive Tea and Coffee drinking
  • Wine or Colas
  • Cranberry juices
  • Popsicles or Slushies {these contain food coloring}
  • Soy sauce and Balsamic vinegar
  • Blueberries and Beets
*Another tip to enhance your new smile is to sport a great tan. A little bit of color can always add a sparkle to the teeth and make them look whiter than it usually is!
