The Perfect Dose…

I am finally back in the States and couldn’t be happier to be in San Diego for work! I was fortunate enough to travel to many amazing places over the last month, but missed my work and clients so much! Today I am sharing with you part 1 of my review for the amazing Dose Of Colors! I came home to the most generous care package filled with these beauties from Anna, and couldn’t wait to play around with them instantly! These lipsticks, glosses and stains are top of the line quality and a must for everyone! My eyes instantly were attracted to the matte lipstick, “Kiss of Fire”, a bright blue toned red! These matte colors glide on smooth and dry to a matte finish with ultra long staying power! Check them out HERE! Dose of Colors also carries more neutral tones, peaches, pinks, and even purples! See how I created this simple yet chic look below…

Foundation: Camo Girl “Earth Yellow” applied to skin with damp Beauty Blender.
Concealer: LA Girl “Creamy Beige” applied under eyes and blended in with Beauty Blender sponge.
Face Powder: Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Powder in : Champagne {under eyes} & Golden Peach {contour}
Highlight: AOM Candelit applied to nose, lips, and cheekbones!
Brushes: Makeup & Hair Addiction brushes

Lashes: Mink Wink lash in “Mademoiselle” {Natural, Soft, Wispy, Light, Fan out}Mademoiselle2-800x800Gloss eyes: This is a very Avant-Garde style of makeup. Instead of wearing the normal dry powder eyeshadows, gloss or wet shadow is worn on the eyes. Paired with some nice lashes or mascara for a very high end look.
Brows: ABH Perfect brow pencil in Soft Brown.

Gloss: MAC Creme Brilliance – apply with a small flat brush to the eyelid below the crease { important tip: Do this after mascara or lashes are applied so that they stick, stay above lash line with gloss}

Dose Of Colors “Kiss of Fire”  – a blue toned red matte lip paint with long lasting stay! More color reviews to come!

IMG_7954 IMG_7950I cannot wait to try all these beautiful colors and share more with you about this amazing makeup line! Anna, the founder of DOC has created some of the most high quality lipsticks I have ever used. When applied to the lips you can tell that the ingredients are top of the notch and the colors speak for themselves, vibrant and artistic. I will create some wonderful swatches for all of you soon… XOX

Lash Growth Serums…

Hello babes!

I posted on IG today about my favorite lash serums to help my natural lashes grow longer, darker and thicker. I am an avid false-lash wearer, this requires me to take extra care of my natural lashes and so I was recently sent the Babe Lash and Grande Lash MD Serums and I have been loving them! I have tried many serums in the past, including: Lilash, Revitalash, Careprost, and Latisse, but I have found that these two work best for me.

See more below!

GrandeLashMD –  I like to use this lash growth in the morning the most! I feel a bit of tingling when I apply it to my top and bottom lashes but I see no side effects. I saw results in 3-4 weeks, my lashes were for sure getting longer and I was so happy! I also love to use this on my brows to help enhance and strengthen the hairs. I like to use this every morning!

Babe Lash – Use once daily, I like to use it at night! Skin should be clean and dry before application. Apply the serum to the skin right above your upper lash line. Use a single brush stroke for each eye. Avoid rubbing your eyes until the serum has dried.When you are satisfied with the results, continue to use Babe Eyelash Serum two to three times a week to maintain long lashes. I started seeing results at 5 weeks. It is safe to use while pregnant as well as with contact lenses.

Snow White: fair skin makeup

Just because you don’t have an all-year-long tan complexion, doesn’t mean you should give up flaunting your skin! Fair skin has always been so gorgeous to me, so when I met Emily,
 I was completely envious of her Snow White resemblance. It can be hard to know the exact colors that work with your skin tone, especially if you are in the white-fair category.  Learning the best make up your fair porcelain complexion will give you a stunning fresh and luminous look, making you look the picture of sophisticated beauty. Even in the middle of winter! Learn my top pale skin tone product picks below!

Tips for fair skin…
Complexion: Regardless of your coloring and undertones, it’s always best to match the shade to your skin. If you need less coverage, go with a sheer tinted moisturizer to let your skin shine through; if you need to amp up the coverage, try a liquid or cream foundation, using a colorless or pale powder to set.
Lips: For the most natural look, try soft apricots or sandy or rosy pinks. For night, a pinky red color gives a dramatic flair. Avoid browns, which can look dull on fair skin.
Eyes: Create a subtle enhancement with soft pink, champagne, navy, gray, or cool brown hues. Use black or black-brown mascara to ground the look and play up your eyes.
Cheeks: Soft peach, pale pink, and apricot are all great blush options for porcelain skin.
Skin: Airbrush Temptu {Fair}
Concealer: NW15 {under eyes and center of nose}

Powder: MAC NW15
Highlight: Soft and Gentle MAC {center of nose and cheekbones}
Blush: MAC Style
Below are some of my top picks for face products for fair skin tones! I know how difficult it can be to find the perfect color for skin tones lighter than NC15/NW15, so I have compiled my favorites for you all!
 foundations for fair skin:
Concealers for fair skin:
Base: Primer UD

lid and tear duct shadow: MAC Nylon

Upper lid: Bobbi Brown Gold {shimmer brick}
Crease: Bobbi Brown Pink {shimmer brick}
Outer Crease and bottom lash line: Bobbi Brown Bronze {shimmer brick}
Gel eyeliner: Bobbi Brown black
Waterline: NYX white eyeliner
Lashes: lash extensions

Wear bright lipstick-
Jane Iredale: Rapture
Having fair skin does not mean you can’t wear bright lip colors like red and fuchsia. These lip colors can really brighten up your complexion. Just make sure to choose a lipstick with blue undertones so that it matches your cool skin tone. Apply a clear lip gloss on top to give your lips extra shine.

A Modern Day Marilyn

 When this beautiful blondie stepped into my room, I was sure that I had met Marilyn Monroe’s doppelganger. Her naturally flawless skin, retro waves, and pouty lips resembled the beauty icon closely. She requested a dark smokey eye with sexy eyeliner so that her eyes really stood out in her bridal photos. I gave her a dewy complexion, paired with a soft pink Lancome lip to complete her vintage style. I know I have done similar looks to this one before, the difference with this is that we went heavy on the bottom liner as well as the top and I used the entire Lorac Pro Palette to achieve it. This makeup is pretty detailed, but is easier than it may appear.
 Learn all about it below…

Disclaimer: This style makeup may not be for you, she loved it, so please be courteous of others makeup styles. Thank you!

Get the look…
If you don’t have the Lorac Pro Palette, I would highly suggest purchasing it for yourself for Christmas or asking it as a stocking stuffer. It is a great universal and multi-use palette that will give you so many beautiful looks. I use at least one color from it for most of the looks I do and always love the way it blends on the eyes! Get it today!

  •  Apply MAC Painterly paint pot to the entire lid with your ring finger. This will be used as a base for the eyeshadows to stick and last long hours without creasing.
  • Apply a matte white to the brow bone to add highlight after shaping the brows. This Lorac palette has a couple matte shadows, use “white”. I have used the Lorac Pro Palette for a lot of my bridal looks, the colors are great for dark or more natural shadows.
  •  I shaped her brows with the NYX brow cake in “blonde”
  • Highlight the inner corners of the eyes using the shimmer color called “champagne”
  • **^^^ I used this for the face highlight as well, details below.
  • Darken the crease with “espresso” by using the blending brush in the outer corner in circles. This color will not be seen much, it is going to be used as a blending color over “painterly”.
  • Now go over that brown with the “black” shadow using the same blending brush. Don’t worry about being completely perfect when applying this because we will clean the corners with concealer. You want the outer corner to be extended quite a bit though, so go far out on corners.
  • Apply the “gold” to the center of the lid with the Bdellium #774 shader brush – for a hint of shimmering color.
  • Clean up the corners of eyes with a lip brush and concealer, draw a straight line from the outer waterline corner and straight out.
  • Line the top lid with the NYX black gel eyeliner and an angled liner brush, wing at end.
  • Line the bottom waterline all the way to inner corner with Essence smudge liner in “black fever”.
  • Smudge bottom lash line with the Bdellium #775 brush and the “black” Lorac shadow
  • Apply mascara to bottom and top lashes- I used the Mary Kay Love, its great for using over lash extensions. Look is complete.

Blue Eyed Beauty

 This past weekend in California, this beauty got married and I glammed her up with some smoked out blacks, browns and creams to accentuate her ocean blue eyes. I am so envious when I see girls with naturally dark hair and light colored eyes, it is the most stunning combination of features to me. I will just have to stick to colored contacts though because I was not blessed with baby blues or greens. If you are getting married and doing your own makeup look, this is a really easy and sexy look to achieve. Most girls want the most minimal amount of makeup on their special day, but there are some who want a little more glam {which is my style for sure}, so if that is what you are going for, keep reading!
Get the eyes…
Blue eyes stand out especially when you use a light shade in the inner corner and a dark shade towards the outer corners. There are many colors that make blue eyes pop, brown, gold, gray, black, plums, the list goes on. This look is great on blue eyes, but can be worn on all colors as well!
The great thing about these eyes is that you really only need three colors:
a soft brown, shimmer tan, and a dark blackish/brown
Any brand of shadow will really do but I used all Inglot shadows for this look. Inglot is a line based out of Las Vegas, their shadows are highly pigmented and very affordable. A new favorite for sure.
Step 1: Apply a shimmer tan shadow all over the eyelid with a shadow brush. Apply it also to the inner tear ducts of the eyes and under the brow bone for a highlight.
Step 2: With any blending brush, apply a soft brown shadow directly into the crease in a windshield wiper motion. This will be used as your transition or blending color for the dark brown shadow.
Step 3. Apply a cat winged gel eyeliner to the eyes that gradually goes from thin to thicker at the outer ends. I like to use a gel liner because I can control it better than liquid liners.
Step 4: Apply a dark brown/black over the outer winged liner and up towards the crease with a tapered blending brush. What we are trying to do is smoke out the wing so that it looks blended, this look is meant to be smokey and not defined. Bring the dark brown into the crease and blend with the soft brown, do this with a blending brush to add softness to the crease.
Step 5: How do you get such sharp angles on the outer corner? To get this super cut look, you will need a lip brush and some concealer. Apply a small amount of concealer to your flat lip brush and paint a straight line starting underneath the cat winged liner and up towards the end of your eyebrow. This will clean up under the shadow and make it look “perfected”.
Step 6: Pop on some false lashes or mascara and your eyes are complete. No bottom liner is used in this look, you can apply a little of the tan shimmer shadow to brighten under the eyes.
Products I used…
Shimmer tan shade: Inglot #395
Soft brown shade: Inglot #342
Dark brown/black shade: Inglot #500
{This shade is darker in person}
False Eyelashes: House Of Lashes: Tigress
Concealer {shadow clean up}: Coastal Scents palette
Brushes I used…
Concealer: MUFE Concealer palette No.1 Apply concealer under the eyes with a damp beauty blender after you have done your eyeshadow makeup. I do my face after because I can perfectly clean up any fall of shadows.
Foundation: Airbrush {Glamaire}– Apply your foundation to the skin wether it be airbrush or traditional foundation.
Powder: Ben Nye Camel powder~ Apply this setting powder all over the face to set the foundation.
Bronze/Contour: Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer~ Apply this to the hollows of the cheekbones with a taped contour brush, apply to the forehead as well. Apply to the sides of the nose with a small shadow brush to define the nose. Also, do not forget the neck.
Blush: Mary Kay -Pink Petals~ Apply lightly to the apples of the cheeks.
Highlight: The Balm~ Mary-Lou Manizer~ Apply this shimmering pearl highlight to the temples and down to the apples of the cheeks, down the nose, and cupids bow.
Lipstick: Nars~ Dolce Vita~ This is a super natural pink lip color, great for girls who don’t want a bold lip but something very soft and sweet. I applied this with a lip brush so that the color goes on lighter, I also added a clear gloss over it for a little shine.
Setting Spray: Skindinavia bridal spray~ Every bride needs to set her makeup so it lasts her throughout her entire wedding night. This is the spray that you need, it will seal your makeup like glue to your face so that nothing shifts around while you are dancing or kissing your groom.

I hope you all enjoyed this look of one of my California brides this weekend!
Thanks for stopping by!

Private Makeup Lesson: Maddie

 Private lessons are one of my favorite services that I offer to clients. Being able to teach my tips and tricks in person to an individual and watch them instantly grow from it is so rewarding. This beautiful teen, Maddie,  has been competing in pageants for years. She came to me with not a lot of knowledge on how to apply makeup for when on stage and so that is exactly what I taught her. It was so fun to show her about all the many products to use to achieve a beautiful evening look that would make her eyes pop. While working over the years on pageant girls I have fallen in love with creating these looks and I am looking forward to seeing all of Maddie’s new skills put to action in the upcoming Miss Utah competition! Learn how to get this look below!

Perfect. Natural. Youthful
For this look you can use any gold, pink and brown shadows!
1. Apply the inner pearly pink shadow from Buxom to the inner corners of the tear ducts.
This adds that hint of pink that will add a feminine touch to your look.
2. Today I will be showing you this eye look with the Charlotte Ronson palette which is on sale right now for $11 ! First apply the cream/tan shadow to the entire lid as a base for the other colors with a round shadow brush {see here}.
3. Apply the golden/bronze shadow to the entire lid over the cream colored shadow, apply with a wet brush for an even brighter gold effect. If you want a little shimmer to the gold, add the Buxom pink shadow over it.
4. Apply the dark brown in the corner of the lid and extend the shadow out of your natural eye shape in  an angled shape with a blending brush.The key with this part is to have no lines, you want it very blended smoothly. {see blending brush here}
5. Apply the Loreal smudge liner pencil to the top of the lid and extend it out with a winged end far out of the eye line. Make sure it is sharpened so you get the most straight line. Apply it to the bottom water line and all the way into inner tear duct, you basically want it to line the entire eye. We want to line the entire eye so that it will really pop her pale blue eyes with the black contrast.
6. Apply a little bit of the dark brown shadow lightly on the bottom lash line to blend the liner.
7. Apply your lashes and coat the top and bottom with mascara.
**TIP: To get that very sharp and clean corner to each end of the eyes use a flat brush/ lip brush and a bit of your concealer {in this case MAC NC20} and draw a sharp line from the outer edge of your lash and upwards following the pencil liner. blend in with your beauty blender and touch up with powder, this will get rid of any shadow that had fallen from application and give your a perfected eye.
This shimmering pearly highlight will give you the most luminous dew to the skin that will make you sparkle. It is beautiful when applied onto the cheekbones, center of the nose, and upper lip. We apply highlight to make features of the face stand out, this is the perfect color for all skin tones. To make this highlight pop even more, spray your brush and tap into product, then apply directly onto skin for a shining effect!

Edge Of Never Shoot: Rose Gold Eyes

This shoot has taken forever for me to post, but better late than never!
I loved being a part of this inspirational mock shoot with my talented friends Perrywinkle Photography and Camilla Photography. Perrywinkle came up with this inspiration from a previous book that she read called “Edge Of Never”. It is about two people in love on a runaway road trip. Teale was our beautiful model portraying “Camryn” and Ghent was our lovely “Andrew”. I went for a very romantic braided ponytail and smokey rose gold eyes. This shoot was meant to be very passionate to show the love between the two, and Teale and Ghent were perfect! Learn how to get this gorgeous look below!

1. With the Stila Ethereal trio, apply the lightest “champagne” color to the inner tear ducts of the eyes. Apply the “gold” color to the entire lid. Apply the middle “Deep brown” color to the outer corners in an angled/sharp shape. Blend with BB Blending Brush.
2. Apply MAC Cranberry to the center of the lid with the BB eye smudged. Go back and reapply a small amount of the “Champagne” Stila color over the Cranberry shadow. This will give a glowing “rose-gold” effect.
