Pageant/Event Makeup Transformation

Hi loves!

Today I am sharing a lesson that I taught to one of my adorable clients, Capri! I was skeptical to share this makeover because I know a lot of people are against young girls wearing makeup, but this sweet girl came to me wanting to learn the tricks of my trade and all that came with it to create a perfect Pageant look herself. Capri has been involved in pageants for the past several years and has come to me many times for lessons. When it comes to “Stage makeup” you have to apply more than you usually would to the normal eye. I still am all about a flawless face and never creating a cake-face. We went with some of my favorite & must-have products to create this evening look for her final Pageant walk. This teen beauty was so happy with the results and has gone on in competing in many more pageants with the confidence to creating a lovely look herself. Private Makeup Lesson: Maddie

 Private lessons are one of my favorite services that I offer to clients. Being able to teach my tips and tricks in person to an individual and watch them instantly grow from it is so rewarding. This beautiful teen, Maddie,  has been competing in pageants for years. She came to me with not a lot of knowledge on how to apply makeup for when on stage and so that is exactly what I taught her. It was so fun to show her about all the many products to use to achieve a beautiful evening look that would make her eyes pop. While working over the years on pageant girls I have fallen in love with creating these looks and I am looking forward to seeing all of Maddie’s new skills put to action in the upcoming Miss Utah competition! Learn how to get this look below!

Perfect. Natural. Youthful
Before
For this look you can use any gold, pink and brown shadows!
1. Apply the inner pearly pink shadow from Buxom to the inner corners of the tear ducts.
This adds that hint of pink that will add a feminine touch to your look.
2. Today I will be showing you this eye look with the Charlotte Ronson palette which is on sale right now for $11 ! First apply the cream/tan shadow to the entire lid as a base for the other colors with a round shadow brush {see here}.
3. Apply the golden/bronze shadow to the entire lid over the cream colored shadow, apply with a wet brush for an even brighter gold effect. If you want a little shimmer to the gold, add the Buxom pink shadow over it.
4. Apply the dark brown in the corner of the lid and extend the shadow out of your natural eye shape in  an angled shape with a blending brush.The key with this part is to have no lines, you want it very blended smoothly. {see blending brush here}
5. Apply the Loreal smudge liner pencil to the top of the lid and extend it out with a winged end far out of the eye line. Make sure it is sharpened so you get the most straight line. Apply it to the bottom water line and all the way into inner tear duct, you basically want it to line the entire eye. We want to line the entire eye so that it will really pop her pale blue eyes with the black contrast.
6. Apply a little bit of the dark brown shadow lightly on the bottom lash line to blend the liner.
7. Apply your lashes and coat the top and bottom with mascara.
**TIP: To get that very sharp and clean corner to each end of the eyes use a flat brush/ lip brush and a bit of your concealer {in this case MAC NC20} and draw a sharp line from the outer edge of your lash and upwards following the pencil liner. blend in with your beauty blender and touch up with powder, this will get rid of any shadow that had fallen from application and give your a perfected eye.
This shimmering pearly highlight will give you the most luminous dew to the skin that will make you sparkle. It is beautiful when applied onto the cheekbones, center of the nose, and upper lip. We apply highlight to make features of the face stand out, this is the perfect color for all skin tones. To make this highlight pop even more, spray your brush and tap into product, then apply directly onto skin for a shining effect!
