Glitter Cut Crease Eyeshadow: Samer Khouzami Inspired

Hello from California!
I just touched down last night in San Diego and I couldn’t be more excited to be here for the next two weeks for makeup appointments, teaching private MU lessons,  and offering skincare! If you are interested in booking I have more openings, just email me in the “Contact” section above! On to todays tutorial, I have been a huge fan of Samer Khouzami for years. He is one of the most talented artists out there and I have always admired the way he contours and does eyeshadow! Today I have a sexy pink-glitter cut crease look that was inspired by one of his looks. This look is definitely more “Glamorous” and would be best for a large party or special event. Hope you all enjoy it!

What is a cut-crease?

This is an eyeshadow technique that focuses on keeping the entire eye lid onc color {preferably lighter} and defining the crease of the eye with any darker color, which creates a much more defined crease and makes eyelids appear larger!

Products used:

  • Eye lid shadow: MAC Pigments in “Naked” – Spray your brush with Fix+ so the shadow gets picked up wet – this will also allow the color to really POP when applied to the eyelid! Just press the shadow all over the lid and up to the brows.
  • Eyelid white color: for a brighter effect, go over the same colors on the eyelid with Milani “Lily White” shadow
  • Eyelid glitter: Girlactik Beauty glitter in “Champagne” – Add a little bit of sparkle to the eyelid ! Wa-la! Sparkle and shine!
  • Black Eyeliner: LA Colors liquid liner- apply a thin to thick line and wing it straight out for a sharp extended eye shape!
  • Cut-Crease color: Makeup Forever in “Deep Plum” – Any dark plum color should work or you can do any color!
  • Cut-Crease brush (important): Sigma E40 {tapered blending brush} – in soft circular motions start blending in the dark color after!
  • White eyeliner: Palladio in “White” applied to inner water line!
  • Lashes: NEW – Flutter lashes in the style  “Judy” – these are thicker and give a nice curled lash look to the eye! I love these Flutter lashes, it is my first time trying the brand but super happy with the high quality of the actual lash itself! I will do more reviews on this soon!
