Let Them Bake! Setting Powders & More…

The “Baking” technique has blown up across the world in the makeup industry! If you are unfamiliar with what “Baking” means, I will explain it now. This method means to let it sit on the face anywhere from 10-20 minutes so your own body heat melts the makeup into the skin. Makeup oxidizes, especially liquids, and it will change color/texture. Allowing these products to cook/bake will leave the product more pigmented and fully covered, creating an easier blend. This creates a more “Flawless” effect to the skins finish. See more below!

To get this look, you will need:

·      A creamy concealer: Eve Pearl Salmon conceal is great!
1. Apply the concealer under eyes with your finger, concealer brush, or blender sponge.

·      beautyblender and Fan Brush to blend and dust after application
2. Blend out the concealer with your Beauty Blender and immediately apply powder after for cooking process.

·      A finely milled powder like NYX Color Correcting Banana Powder {This is the best powder out there} I have used SO many finely milled powders {example: Ben Nye Banana / Laura Mercier Translucent} This one is very very pigmented and will give you the best end results!
3. Apply a good amount of the setting powder to the concealer, let bake for 10-20min, once done baking- dust off excess powder with fan brush! PERFECTION!

Pore Fillers: Hiding Acne & Scars

Hello Babes!

I always get asked the best products for hiding pores, filling in lines, & smoothing out pimples and scars! Well you are in luck because I have compiled some of my favorite products below for just this! Pores are inevitable, you cannot get rid of them, but you can minimize and hide them with the right technique. Often people are afraid of makeup when they have acneic or scarred skin because it can make it look “CAKEY” if not applied the correct way. Layering more and more product on will only leave you looking overly frosted. Primer and Pore Fillers will be your best friend if you struggle with texturized skin. Keep reading to learn my favorites at the moment…

Pore Fillers / Line Fillers / Scar Fillers:

Fillers are usually clear/ or flesh tone and are best when applied with the fingers directly to the skin. Focus on the T-zone if your pores are large in these areas. For scars/wrinkles you can apply these with fingers to the area as well. Apply lightly so that you are not soaking up a lot of the product into your hands. Let dry and foundation can be applied over with a Beauty Blender- this is the best tool for hiding texture.

  1. NYX Pore Filler – A nude smooth consistency, this pore filler is AMAZING, and for the cheap price it is definitely a must buy. Get porcelain doll like skin before coverage with this beautiful filler! $11 {ACNE SKIN SUGGESTION}

  1. theBalm – Time Balm – Pink tone pore filler, very velvety finish to the skin. Let it dry for atleast 5 minutes before applying foundation $29

3. Clarins Skin Smooth Perfect – This one is by far my favorite when it comes to fillers. It is thick and smooth, leaves the skin feeling poreless basically!! I use this on usually every single client for that perfect skin finish before foundation $28

Indian Beauty: Double Winged Liner

Hello loves!

Today I have this gorgeous dramatic Indian bridal look to share with you all! Traditional Indian wedding makeup has got to be one of my favorite looks to create! They usually have a very bold eye with either glitters or heavy liner. In this case, my gorgeous bride, Jasmine {ya she looks like the Disney princess too}, requested a copper smokey eye with double winged liner. To create this very heavy wined-liner look, a steady hand is required, but a heavy hand as well so that you can apply a bold amount! Not only is this look stunning, but it really makes the eyes the main focus! I used some fluffy Huda Beauty lashes, of course, and bronze shadows from Estee Lauder’s new palette Bronze Goddess <3

Two Toned Eyeliner & Anastasia Lip Gloss

I was recently sent the gorgeous new Anastasia Beverly Hills Lip Gloss set to try out and fell in love with the Nude set. It has six beautiful shades of neutral tone goodness! These glosses are not only gorgeously pigmented, but they smell like literal sugar. In the look below I am wearing Dainty {peach} mixed with Vintage {rose}, to create a dusty rose lip! I am also sporting a wicked liner. Winged liner is my go-to for my every day makeup. I never get sick of a slick black wing, but I like to change it up sometimes. So today I am sharing the products I use to create a bronzed two-tone wing! I am also wearing the new Huda Beauty Mink lashes in “Raquel”, a very wispy, thick and long lash!
Hope you enjoy!

Two Tone Liner: To create this playful style of winged liner, it is very simple. Draw a winged liner as thick as you desire how you  regularly would. Second, use an angled eyeliner brush, and a sparkle bronze color. Over line the beginning of the inner corner of liner to the middle of the eye with the bronzed shadow. This will create an “ombre” effect to the liner from light to dark. Apply mascara or false lashes. Complete!

Hua Beauty NEW Mink Lashes in Raquel – soft, flexible, wispy, long and comfortable!

Contour Transformation: New Zealand Bride

I was so excited to do makeup on this beautiful blonde bride of mine, as well as honored that she traveled all the way from New Zealand to Vegas and booked me. I love when my brides find me on Pinterest from across the world and book with me. I loved doing this transformation, my style is definitely on the more glamorized side of makeup. I am a fan of the full contour and false lashes look. Its all about how you apply it though! See how I created this makeup below! XOXO

photo 2-13

For all those who were interested in the breakdown of this makeup look, I am finally sharing it! When it comes to glam bridal makeup, the blending is the most important part. For full coverage looks, the mistake many artists do is not using the right tools to apply the foundation and powders. You need a Beauty Blender, high quality brushes, and HD cremes to create a flawless face. Airbrush makeup is just the icing on top when it comes to creating that “smooth complexion”. See all the products I used below, and for those interested in my advanced Makeup Artist lessons, email me at Jadembaird@gmail.com

Face Products:
Primer: Clarins Instant Smooth Pore Filler – apply all over skin to fill in lines and pores
Concealer: Eve Pearl “Salmon” concealer to highlight and brighten under the eyes and hide any wrinkles
HD Creme/Contour: Anastasia Cream Contour Kit in Light – apply “Banana” to highlight & “Cream” to contour

Airbrush Foundation: Temptu S/B #7 & #6 mixed {Airbrush classes available}
Powder: Frankie Rose “Olive” powder Apply all over the face to set the airbrush foundation.
Under eye powder: Ben Nye “White” powder to set under the eyes – This is a super important product for ALL makeup artists, I use this to “Bake” or as most call it “Set” the under eyes. Apply this before applying any eyeshadow to avoid fall-out.
Blush: theBalm “Frat Boy” – Apply this peach matte blush to the apples of the cheeks.
Bronzer: MAC Trace Gold – Used to contour the nose and narrow the bridge and tip. To learn my technique attend on of my classes.
Highlight: Dose of Colors “Pearl Dust” -a pink/pearl glow highlight – Apply to inner eyes, nose, cheekbones, cupids bow!

Shadow: Tarte TARTLETTE palette – all neutral brown shades
Liner: Motives Luxe liner pen-  for top lash line /  NYX Mechanical pencil in black for waterline

Lashes: Huda Beauty “Coco Jo” – multi length fluttery lashes
Brows: Anastasia Brow Wiz “Soft Brown” to shape brows perfectly
Setting Spray: Japonesque Setting Spray – My absolute favorite setting spray at the moment, it takes away any oils and sets the makeup perfectly so it lasts all day long!

Lipstick: Dose of Colors in “Coy” a very peach lipstick shade that is beautiful for any bride!
Lipgloss: Buxom “Boo-ya” lip gloss – full bodied plumping gloss!
